Episode 007: Recognizing Jesus
Hi all,
Episode 007 (Sounds like James Bond a little doesn’t it?) is here and it’s all about trying to recognize Jesus. With Easter in mind Tammy and I talk about why the disciples of Jesus on the Road to Emmaus had no idea that it was the resurrected Jesus who was walking along side and discussing scripture with them.
How could they not see him?
How could they not know him?
I mean they get dream every person who ever asked, “Why God?”. They get Jesus himself explaining scriptures and what it all meant.
But they STILL couldn’t recognize him.
It was only when they break bread with him around a table, share community, and share in the brokenness of Christ’s body that they are able to see him for who he truly is. But will we in the 21st century learn the lesson of 2000 years ago.
