Weekend Distractions: First “Left Behind” trailer with Nicholas Cage
A year ago when an announcement that the “Christian” apocalyptic thriller Left Behind was to be rebooted, a collective groan echoed through a large segment of the Christian community.
For many of us who are trying to steer the conversation towards Christ and his Kingdom message of:
* compassion
* mercy
* restoration
along comes more Left Behind with its bad theology and message of:
* fear
* judgement
* escapism
And we don’t even get Kirk Cameron in this one!
But, we do get Nicholas Cage which begs the question I now pose (feel free to comment your answer)
Which Nicolas Cage movie is more theologically accurate, “Left Behind” or “National Treasure”?
While you ponder the theological quandary that question poses, check out the first trailer from Left Behind
